this is fricking hilarious. its like a hybrid except you don't get to put gas in when the battery runs down.

maybe they can bungie tape the generator to the trunk of the car and fire it up so it can convert the gas to electricity while they're on the road and they can stop at gas stations to refill it

California went full retard 20 years ago...and as everyone knows...you never go full retard.

They announced that by 2035, CA was going to ban the sale of gas burning cars….which of course means every car sold in the state is going to cost half a million dollars.

They have to be doing this on purpose…no one is that destructive solely due to incompetence.

He has a privacy hedge. Of course, he can't water it.

Why do you idiots assume that everyone who drives a Tesla gives a shite about the environment?

What makes the superchargers so special that they can charge a battery in 30 minutes but a 50 amp wall charger takes 8 hours?
Wall charger
50 amp x 240v = 12kW

Superchargers can charge at 150kW or 250kW, so roughly 10 or 20 times as fast. And they charge the battery directly with DC, bypassing the car's charger.

People who see other people making purchasing decisions that differ from their own feel the need to come up with some way to validate their decision making.

In this case it’s something like, “everyone who buys a Tesla is a tree hugging libtard!!1!”

This is what controlling folks looks like. Don’t get into the weeds on all this EV nonsense.

The current talk is there has to be a revamped electrical grid to charge all the future EVs. Won’t happen timely and most likely not at all due primarily to environmental and the other myriad gov regulations. So, the plan is to force EVs and have no way to keep them running. Wake up baws!!!! 1830’s here we come!!!!!

Look Frued, it's not that complicated and your psychological analysis is off.

This is more making fun of CA than Telsa owners.

People that can't see the irony of them banning ICB vehicles by 2035 and making fun of the power grid in Texas is just too much to ignore and this picture perfectly sums the whole thing up.

Friend of mine in California bought a gasoline generator within the past year. He said it will be illegal to buy/sell them in 2024.

What a joke. That state is so fricked.

I don’t have any issue with your OP. My “psychological analysis” wasn’t aimed at you.

I’m talking about the handful of posters who are clearly taking shots at EV owners. I’m assuming that’s who the guy I responded to was referring to but if I’m wrong about that, my bad.

BTW, I’m the one who posted about the ban, so yes, I see the irony.

Ohms Law tells me you either have to up the amperage or up the voltage.

I have not checked into it but the superchargers probably have a 480 volt line coming in. That is not a common voltage for residential but is for commercial or industrial applications. The voltage is then transformed to proper voltage for charging and the amperage is proportionally increased. Bottom line, some combination of an increase in voltage or amperage is needed for faster charging.

For the record, I don’t know any Tesla or other EV owners who go around talking about how much they’re doing for the environment

Exactly this. And the amount of Tesla/EV owners on this growing is definitely growing by a good amount, and I haven't seen a single EV owner on this board say they bought an EV because of the environment, but it never stops posters from posting like that's why everyone buys an EV.
