Taking to someone in transport, he is saying there is about to be a major shortage for the wholes state south of Alexandria.

Outages and longlines from Laff to New Roads.

Water and gas, the two things you know need to be staged and ready to go after a storm.

Or maybe people could not run their whole fricking house on a gas generator

How else am I supposed to keep my house as cold as my F350 King Ranch?

Even if you are running your whole house most people, the ones with any sense, are just running fans and fridge/freezers. And most are cycling even then.

Now imagine you have a fleet of bucket trucks trying to restore power

Now, imagine a hurricane parks itself over the area of the state has the most refineries and they have to shut down and they have to take 3-4 days to finally power all up

2/3 of all Louisiana refining capacity is down and allocations are made already for other resources. Majority of transport now is for first responders, priority needs like hospitals and utility crews.
Gas for our generators to keep our butts comfortable isn't their #1 priority in the first 72 hours.

No shite. There are hundreds rolling in. I hope they have tanker trucks deployed with them or we're fricked

Well if we had a halfway competent state government maybe they could create a minute strategic reserve. Granted it would be a big undertaking but consider how often we get smashed with hurricanes it would be worth it.

This right here. I’m running my fridge, TV, modem, and a window unit on a honda eu2000i, and I just opened my third 5 gallon can today. So like 12 gallons since Monday. I run it around the clock except when it runs out of gas at night. These bigger units are burning that everyday.

They have on-site tanker truck to refuel. They aren’t waiting in lines.

For most of the generators like the ever present Gererac it doesn't matter much. They operate at a fixed RPM and use fuel at a high rate even with low loads.

This is where the inverter generators with an "Eco" mode shine. as they idle down under low load.

Our gas prices have gone up here in FL, so I've reached out to DeSantis to see if he can pull some strings and get extra supply so our prices trickle back down.

Everywhere I need to go I can walk or bicycle.
