I just checked out mine on Verizon. Switching to the new Verizon plan saved me about $35/month on the plan. The fancy new phones run from $20-30/month.

Depends on the price of the phone you choose. Also, once phone cost is covered, installments stop, but the monthly service reduction stays in play until you Choose to get another phone.

For a person that doesn't get new phones all the time, this is a better platform.

apparently on the new unlimited plan the 4th line is free, but a 5th, 6th, etc are now.

I thought they meant any lines 3+ were free but that apparently is not the case. Just line #4.

Get Straight Talk for $48 per month. Purchase a new phone on Ebay or from a friend. Profit.

Heard about this last week. I just told myself whatever the second newest phone that is out will be my choice. Once the new phone comes out the others drop to $99 or so

That's not how it works anymore.
That was $99 with a discount on a two year contract. Now you have to pay the phone off yourself.

This is false - time value of money means that paying in 25$ a month in today's dollars is financing a cell phone that I'm capable of buying outright in tomorrows dollars and I get to keep the interest I earn/buying power.

single plan is about $150 more over two years. Family plan is cheaper.

Savings come from the reduction of monthly access fee for next plan

Buy an unlocked phone and put your SIM card in it.

It is cheaper this way than the extra they will charge you.

Don't do another contract.

I wish people would quit calling each other idiots and repeating over and over again how the plans cost the same, yada yada. The fact remains that AT&T is charging an arm and a leg for service you CAN get elsewhere at a better price. All the big phone companies are doing this, to be fair. My husband and I pay $160 for two phones and that is AFTER our educator discount. That's too expensive, IMO.

They are factoring in that you will be playing on your phone a lot during that 4 months a year that you aren't at work.

Well aren't they the fools because I play on it the 8 months I am at work, too!

On the DTV unlimited plan, the tablet will be $40, not $10. They will offer a 1 gig tablet plan for $10, but it will be separate.

Yeah you be much better off paying the $25 per month like you used to under the "free upgrade" system.

I switched to project Fi and a Nexus 6P. Between data and wifi I used .13gb of data so they will be refunding most of the 10.00/gb next month. total bill including phone will be about 47.00/month.
