I am going soon. Cant go diving because I developed and ear infection and didn't get my certification done (pissed about this.) I have a snorkeling trip booked, any recommendations on things to see, places to eat, do's and dont's?

It's an island--it offers all of the same things any other island offers. Beach, drink, swim, bungalow sex. do nothing.

Ever since they started appeasing the Muslims, I've never been a fan of the Turks. I'd choose another island.

Take the ferry to North Caicos, rent a car and drive to Middle Caicos. Go to Mudjin Harbor which is the prettiest little beach you'll ever see. Stop at a salt marsh to see the flamingos and have lunch at Daniels. Daniels serves fried fish caught that morning for lunch. You can also start at Bambarra Beach on Middle Caicos and work your way back to North Caicos. If you catch low tide on Bambarra you can walk a long way out and the water is only knee deep.

There are tons of great restaurants on Providenciales. Bay Bistro is excellent and is right on Grace Bay Beach. I'd get reservations. Coco Bistro is ridiculously good but you'll need reservations months in advance to even think about eating there.

The snorkeling is good but not great. Because of your ear you won't be able to dive for conch so that's out. Parasailing offers some great views.

Bring lots of money for alcohol. It is extremely expensive on the island.

There is a "snuba" tour that was a great time. Take the snorkeling trip to the little island that is full of iguanas.

Lots of good restaurants , Coco Bistro was our favorite.

We also did a sunset cruise with champagne, beer and some food on a small boat through our resort that was real nice.

I wouldn't worry about the scuba. It will feel like by the time you blink your eyes a few times, it's already time to go home.

The airport is much improved now.

This

It is nice, the high cost keeps the poors away.

There's a nice grocery store (Graceway's?) to stock up on alcohol and whatever else, they have a lot of nice European offerings there as well.

There's a casino there as well I believe, if you are into gambling.

Get bikes and ride all over the place, it's pretty damn safe.

I like it. If I were going to purchase property down there, Provo would be on my short list.
