Well, I'm happy for you. I always enjoyed when y'all went into the field. That's when all the Army wives would hit the NCO club and get tagged by the Air Force guys. Wash rinse and repeat.

haha right. The Army recruiter told me I qualified for most of the jobs with the score, but I do need to take it again like someone suggested earlier.

Just make sure you pick a job that has a place in the civilian world as well so you dont trap yourself in the military forever

A 51 is a pretty normal score. A 36 is the minimum to enlist in the USAF BUT A 50 is required for Coast Guard. Like others have said it depends on the job you want to do. In USAF you need a G64 for Cyber Security or Cyber Ops but for Supply (Material Management) you just need a G44. Remember you only need to meet the minimum for the ASVAB sub area (mechanical, electrical, general, administrative) like G for general above.

So the big question is... What do you want to do? What skill do you want the military to teach you for free that you could use later in the civilian world? I learned computers and electronic in the Air Force and it set me up for life.

AF have better food, better lodging, better hours

This isn't universally true. My enlisted housing on Schofield Barracks was far superior to the JR officer housing on Maxwell AFB, for example.

Do yourself a favor and join the air force. Best quarters, best jobs. I say this as a former navy man. Air Force treats their enlisted people the best. Unless you want to carry a 70lb pack I'd avoid the Army and the Marines...many props to those guys but if you aren't making a career out of the military I'd avoid them.

In my HS class me and another dude made a perfect score on the ASVAB.

The recruiters were up my arse for a month.

The other guy went in to the Navy, joined the submarine nuclear corps and now has a masters in physics. He is still an officer and told me he loves every bit of it.

If you plan to use the military as training for a good, high paying civilian career then the Air Force is by far the best branch as a whole for that.

The Air Force hate/disrespect from the other branches comes mostly from jealous grunts that got stuck as machine gunners because they were too stupid to qualify for a good job.

If you plan to make a career out of the military Id go Army or Navy.

Both wars are pretty much over so all branches are transitioning to a peacetime role compared to the last 15 years or so.

Everyone hates on each other, each branch has its perks BUT one thing that's a concensus besides the fact that the coast Guard sucks, is that the AF takes better care of their people.

Pick a handful of jobs that you think you'll like and get the MOS/AFSC from your recruiter and do some research on your own. Look at civilian equivalents and job outlook.

The whole experience is what you make it. I made friends that I co side family and would drop what I'm doing at a moments notice to fly and help them if needed. It's like college but better.

Honestly have no idea what an MOS score is. I'll have to ask the recruiter.

It's your A G E And M scores.

Admit.. General.. Electric and mechanical.

Jobs require a minimum score to qualify for it.

So basically the specific score on each part of the ASVAB? I gotcha. Thanks.
