Also want to add

Saint Street Inn -- good brunch place. The owner is a friend.
Olde Tyme Grocery -- excellent po-boys. Think they're cash only.
Johnson's Boucaniere -- get a Parrain Special (boudin, cheese, barbecue sauce on a hamburger bun that's smashed on a sandwich press)

Check in advance. I'm wondering how many of these places will be closed for Good Friday....

Yeah, this is probably the worst time to visit Lafayette because of the apex of the Lenten season.

After Easter, things crank up.
