My guess is the more we find out about this guy the more we'll see that he pushed around in the mental health system and never properly diagnosed. If he was actually diagnosed with bipolar with all of that shite going on someone is terrible at their job of evaluating.

Doubt it. The dude probably lost it with the girl for whatever reason, killed her and said oh crap...let me act crazy in the most outrageous way. So you have the public suicide act.
