Louisiana State Police Colonel Lamar Davis announced his retirement early next year in a letter Saturday.

In his retirement letter, Davis stated his plans to retire from his post on January 8, 2024.

The Baton Rouge native held the post for over three years, as he took the role in October 2020. Governor-elect Jeff Landry will be responsible for naming his replacement once he takes office in January.

Does this rope tend to change with new leadership in the Governor's mansion?

Republican Governor was just elected. He knows what time it is. Elections have consequences.

I am hearing chatter that the next Superintendent of Highway Patrol is some guy from Troop C, Frank Besson. Never met him, but the men that have served under him speak very highly.

LSP has big problems of their own, corruption, murder, civil rights violations, obstruction of justice, conspiracy......
