But after watching a documentary series with episodes 2 and 3 basically entirely driven by a WM3 support organization and near sycophant following, it's common for people to regurgitate this bull shite that the Christian state simply threw them out to the gallows because they were "weird" and "different."
You seem to be ignoring some of the legitimate claims of occultism against Damien Echols. It doesn't mean he's guilty, but there were enough ties to make him a prime suspect IMO.
Just realized that I'm probably agreeing with you here, actually...

I think you misinterpreted my post, because that's exactly my position.

Nonsense. Parole officers from the local juvenile detention center brought Echols' name to the attention of authorities because of their knowledge of his past psychiatric issues, which if you look into them are highly disturbing. There's no doubt that Echols was a disturbed mind and a weird frick far beyond listening to rock music and dressing in black.
Thanks. I will look more into it- glad to see some objective discussion about it. Per most of the documentaries, they make it sound like it was exclusively because Echols listened to rock and dressed in black.

The fact is there wasn't near enough evidence to convict and they forced a retard to confess just to get a conviction. Literally a retard considering he was a teenager and had the IQ of a child 5 or younger so yes, he was a retard. I lean towards innocent but all I know is there's no way you could convict them of murder. That's why they are free today.

I'll just drop this right here.
(Mountain Home, Arkansas — January 20, 2012) Terry Hobbs’ nephew, Michael Hobbs Jr., allegedly told his friends “my uncle Terry murdered those three little boys,” according to declarations under penalty of perjury recently given to Damien Echols’ defense team. The three new witnesses were polygraphed about what they stated Michael Hobbs, Jr. told them.
“One day Michael picked us up in his truck. He was very quiet and upset. Michael then said to us, ‘you are not going to believe what my dad told me today. My Uncle Terry murdered the three little boys.’ According to Michael, his dad called this ‘The Hobbs Family Secret’ and he asked us to keep it a secret and not tell anyone.”
Another witness stated, “One night last winter, Michael and I were playing pool in his basement when the third friend asked about the West Memphis Three case which had been in the news. Michael responded by saying, ‘My uncle killed three kids in West Memphis.’ Michael was dead serious when he said this.”
The three little boys referenced in the declarations were found brutally murdered in West Memphis, Arkansas in 1993. DNA consistent with Terry Hobbs, stepfather of victim Stevie Branch, was later discovered in the knot of a shoelace used to restrain victim Michael Moore. Three eyewitnesses have also provided sworn statements that they saw Terry Hobbs with the three children on the day of the murders, immediately before they disappeared. Terry Hobbs has maintained that he never saw the three boys the day they were murdered.
A third witness stated that he was at Michael Hobbs Jr’s home in 2003 or 2004 when he was told by Hobbs Jr. that the two of them could not go down to the basement to play pool because Michael Hobbs Sr. was down there having a conversation with Hobbs Jr.’s uncle. The witness said that he “ listened with Michael Jr. at the top of the stairs. I heard two men talking. One appeared to be very upset even crying and he said ‘I am sorry, I regret it.’ The other man was trying to console him and said, ‘You are in the clear, no one thinks you are a suspect, those guys are already in prison.’”
Now, in full disclosure, I know Mike Hobbs the brother. He used to own a restaurant in Mountain Home. I used to go over and shoot pool with him in his basement and drink some beer. He was a good guy. I never met Terry. After reading the above accounts from his son, I firmly believe it was Terry. Just take this as my opinion and nothing else because I didn't know anything about Terry Hobbs the whole time I knew Mike. I just have a gut feeling this is true.

Those websites are written by hacks with an agenda.
The problem is you have formed your opinion off of reading hacks on both sides. Should have read the actual reports alone and then formed an opinion.

Bottom line is that there is no prosecuting attorney in the world who would take someone that they have already obtained a conviction on and have them sitting on death row and then agree to let him loose on society if they weren't aware that either they didn't do it or they're wasn't really enough evidence there to support a conviction.

Mr. Brent Davis,
I am forwarding this letter to your office simply because you were the only prosecuting attorney that I was able to get the address of. After reading this, I hope you will bring it to the attention of the appropiate persons.
I may have some useful information for the prosecution in the upcoming appeal of Jessie Misskelley. Who, as you may know is one of three defendants accused of murdering the three young boys in West Memphis.
I have known Misskelley since June 9th, 1994. We are currently housed together in the A.D.C. Diagnostic Unit, Special Programs Unit.
At several different occasions, Misskelley and I have talked extensively about many facts of the case. Among them, Misskelley told me that they, the defendants, cut the testicales of one of the children off. That Jason Baldwin, one of the defendants, had sex with one of the children after he had been killed. And that Damien Echols, one of the defendants, said a prayer before they threw the boys in a ditch.
Misskelley, also told me that they, the defendants, left a night gown at the scene so that it would look like women had committed the crime. He says now that he is trying to blame the parents of one of the children.
Misskelley also told me that his confession is the only evidence that the prosecution has. And that he and his attorney are trying to have that dismissed.
I once asked Misskelley what were the names of the three boys. He laughed for some time, and then said he could only remember one of them.
Mr. Davis, please do everything in your power to keep Misskelley behind bars for the rest of his life. He is a very cold, morbid person.
I thank you for your time
Michael Johnson
