Luckily for you it's 2023, so I won't judge. You do you.

I pass by no less than 10 gas stations on my way to work. Same number on the way home and it takes me about 10 minutes to fill it 100%. Can you golf cart driving baws say THAT?
10 minutes slumming it with the normal gas station clientele? Sucks for you, that sounds awful.

I take 10 seconds to plug in, then my car fills up while I'm sleeping.

Your attempted slam dunk there was quite a fail.

This is the equivalent of me saying it takes you 20-25 minutes to put gas in your car.

Both aren't true.

These are niche vehicles. They’re not designed to run to Home Depot and grab some fence boards or 20 bags of mulch. They’re not designed for family road trips. They’re not designed to pull your boat or travel trailer for family vacations. They’re not designed to sling mud at the camp
You missing the irony of this post is great.

bullshite. Anybody with 1-3 kids under 10 ain’t road tripping in any kind of EV on the market right now. GTFO with that shite.
You're way off base here. If you have 1-3 kids, you are more likely to be just fine on a road trip since you'll have to make a bunch of stops anyway.

Let me guess, you're one of those that think it takes 45-60 every time you charge, right?

Truth is, it's 10-15 minutes to charge. A normal 10 hour road trip, you'll probably stop 3 times to charge and likely more times than that overall with 1-3 kids, so you're vastly overestimating how much time you'll actually lose compared to that same trip with wife and kids in a gas powered vehicle.

A quick microcosm of one of the things wrong in society today... Something doesn't fit your agenda, just refuse to believe that fact. Then tell everyone out loud that you disagree with facts.

They can quote whatever stats or articles or whatever, I still don’t believe it and this is why
Loud wrong is the worst kind of wrong. Also, you said "this is why" then gave no actual reason why.

Not to mention that you just can’t find a charging station around the corner,
pssst, you can charge at home.

not to mention it cost more per miles per charge than that Corolla gets per miles on gas.
People actually believe this, and these people get to vote. Scary, loud wrong again.

What the chuds on both sides fail to realize. Their car doesn’t work for you, that’s fine. Your car doesn’t work for them, also fine. You can each purchase a vehicle that fits your needs.

That’s it.

It’s kind of impressive that the Tesla model Y starts at around 47k and the carolla starts around 23K. You would expect the top selling car worldwide would be an inexpensive car

7500 tax credit might have something to do with it.

Exactly, check the technology adaptation curve, and I believe we are still in the “early adopters” phase since the people purchasing them are the same people who plopped down $20k for a plasma HDTV setup 15 years ago.

The top selling vehicle in the world would have me leaning towards this not really being correct.

In fact, the post you replied to, he gave 4 or 5 example of actual niche uses for a vehicle. Pulling a boat is 100% a niche use that the majority of folks never do but it was listed as a reason why the EV is niche, which again, wasn't very logical.

Serious question.

Two weeks ago I had to drive to Charlotte and then from there to Charleston for a 3 day conference. 6-7 hours total drive time with no traffic issues. How does the EV do that?

Go to an EV route planner and it’ll tell you exactly what it takes.

ETA. Tesla says for Clt to Charleston in a model 3 long range you need to hit a supercharger in Columbia for 5 minutes. Then charge at your hotel and go back.

Must be a typo, surely it's 45-60 minutes!

I've done D.C. to Austin with an X and S. People fail to grasp how it works simply because they haven't even sat in a Tesla, let alone drove one. If they had, they would know that all your charging options are on the screen and you can plan your route as well as how much charge you will use. We either stayed at hotels or dined at places with charging included. The big kicker is that with ICE you are so used to filling up all the way and they haven't dropped just $5 in a tank since they were a teenager. My point is why would I charge all the way up (since of course it takes 45 minutes to do...) when I've already paid for it with my hotel or dining? In the instances we had to pay we used the route planner to figure out how much charge we would need. Of course you add on some extra just to be safe. You can plan this all while taking a shite.
