The husband's emotions seemed legit. I don't think it was faked, but something seems off. Probably just because they aren't releasing everything that is known.

I don't think the husband was necessarily in on it.

I wonder why they won't release what was written in the branded message. Also, is the fbi running the investigation? That sheriff doesn't instill much confidence.

Eta: seems like if the fbi isn't involved it might be because le isn't convinced the story is legit.

I'm only about a quarter into the 2020. If the husband is lying it is an incredible performance.

The kids went to day care.

The day he got home her car was there, she wasn't, and the kids were still at daycare.

i looked over the Reddit thread. I saw the accusations of her claiming that something similar happened in 2006 but didn't see any details. Did I miss it or was there a comment describing that too?

Is it true that she wasn't even kept overnight at the hospital? Seems strange given the description of how severely she was starved and beaten.

I pray that nobody is so messed up to fake her own abduction, but it appears that way. If its true she wasn't even admitted overnight in the hospital, then her entire story seems bogus to me. I also have issue with the Go Fund account.

Looks like there is 10 layers to the story and very little involve an abduction.

Glad everyone is OK. But this is the type of case that ties up a ton of resources. Possibly all to play into a delusion or attention seeking.

The media attention made her too risky to transport and keep any longer than they did.

However, since she was missing for 3 weeks... this indicated that law enforcement had very few leads to follow. Thus, it would be a lot simpler to just kill and dump her in a remote area than dropping her off alive and risk her providing details that may lead to the discovery and prosecution of the cartel.

And why did she indicate that her captors were both female? It is almost like she wanted this to be a victim of kidnapping/torture, but unwilling to take on the role of a victim of sexual assault or slavery.

So, IMO, this is a made-up story to cover for something else or that law enforcement are leaving out a lot of detail.

Also, if her story is accurate... It would indicate that there may be perpetrators in the area and lone joggers may be at risk. Law enforcement routinely issues these warnings to the public, have they?
