Merc > BMW

I'd love to hear why anyone thinks differently.

Meh, BMWs are crap after they age about 5 years and they all look the same. I'd rather get one of these for about half the price and go 0-60 less than .5 seconds slower, all while looking much, much better:

Plus you get a supercharged and turbocharged inline-6 producing 370hp, 32 mpg, and AWD for that half price. BMW is massively overrated and Volvo is massively underrated.

There's also a 600hp inline-5 version that's been in the works for a few years that'll be comparable in price to the BMW M3.

BMW has a better soul.

I think the steering always feels better in a BMW.

Merc made nothing like what I bought from BMW (manual sports sedan)...but that's been some time now. That made the decision easy. Hopefully next time there's something in their lineup I have to have.

This is the only thing I like more on BMW than Mercedes.

That's pretty close to everything.

Steering? That's one of many many factors. Mercedes is like a 9/10 on steering. BMW is a 9.5/10.

I bet the dual clutch in this generation of 5 series is more fun than what's provided for in the comparable E class. Being able to make an all wheel drive sedan a rear wheel drive with button would make that even better.

ETA: Don't get me wrong, I think most E class setups look better than that M5.

I'll take a 911 turbo S. A car that you could actually drive hard without it breaking down.

I think the turbo does 0-60 in ~2.75.

My friend is looking at a used one in NOLA at the dealership, 3200 miles.

That car with PDK is a seamless beast. It's crazy fast and engineered like no other car under $500K. Too much for most drivers, though.

I looked at it yesterday (not buying--just looked--I was getting my oil changed and had time to kill)--they are asking $160k.

...and it's a regular Turbo, not an "S"

Not since they went electronic...huge letdown in feedback with the new cars.
