Kristen Luong was born with a black and blue birthmark around her eye.
Would make for a pretty awkward walk into a restaurant or church.

I'm not basing her dateability on looks, education, wealth, or social status.

I think the way to go would be to get a tattoo that sort of matches her birthmark - at least simulate a worse injury to the eye/nose or perhaps even more extensive bruising to the face.
At least folks who see you as a couple for the first time figure she gives better than she gets.
