The most popular medical conditions that too many people believe they have

Part of this can be blamed on white, suburban fricktards who just feel "tired" or some other normal condition, but a lot of this can be blamed on the medical industry for advertising and making it seem like everyone needs treatment for this and that:
1. Low T: We sure do have a lot of low T people out there. I wonder how this will affect a lot of men long term. There's actually some argument that if low T isn't causing symptoms, then there probably isn't a reason to treat it.
2. Anxiety: Anxiety is a very real and debilitating disorder. Unfortunately, every suburban mom with the "can I talk to your manager haircut" and their kid claims to have anxiety because they want to feel numb and not feel the normal, everyday feelings of nervousness in appropriate situations. Or, they get a dog apparently.
3. Sleep Apnea: This is a real condition too, but I have to wonder if it is often way over-diagnosed. There aren't many people who get tested in a sleep study and get told they're normal. It seems like errybody has a CPAP nowadays. I'm willing to concede this may be legitimate as we do have a lot of fatties running around now.
4. ADHD: Nothing earth shattering here. I'm still not convinced it's a real thing. It's funny how more kids in suburban america are diagnosed than anywhere else- including the affluent areas of Europe. Plus, there are shittons of conditions (depression, lack of sleep, just a kid being dumb, a bratty kid, or vision/hearing problems) that can cause symptoms and cause a misdiagnosis.
5. Depression: This is a very real disease, but again Americans are over-medicated and want to feel numb, so they're misdiagnosed here too. Way too many people on anti-depressants these days who don't need to be.
6. Fibromyalgia- Bull.shite.
7. Gluten allergy- Bull.shite (except for an EXTREMELY small %) If you feel "bloated" it's because you're eating like shite or you're fat or you have something else wrong (gallbladder, etc.). It isn't some gluten boogey man.

I read a lot of "I think" in your post.
Are you an MD or a facebook reader?

I love the people even here on TD.com that say "I can't function unless things are clean because I am so OCD"
No. You're just not a slob. Congrats! There is a lot more to being OCD than not liking being surrounded by filth and/or liking things organized.

Fibromyalgia
What a hype.
Well over 80% of all sufferers are immediately pre- or postmenopausal women (and the vast majority of them are white).

Chronic fatigue syndrome.
Flea-bite-us. That's how some patients think it is spelled and what it means.

Sure it is...
Sorry, you cannot have a double dose of dilaudid to bring you pain level from a 10 to a 9

There was/is a poster here that claimed she has fibromyalgia and that it's real. Can't remember who it is. I want to say it's nurse.

A former co-worker of mine would say she had a migraine every time she had a headache. Heaven forbid you try to tell her they were not one and the same.

Very true. I often wonder the long term ramifications of low T treatments on the hearts of men.

Not an MD, but as I said...many of these conditions are real but way over-diagnosed.
The medical community is a business trying to make a buck just like ambulance chasers.
