The media fear porn over the salt wedge in the Mississippi has depleted local water stock.

You can’t find water from Delacroix to Slidell right now. I watched two women get into a tug of war fight over gallon jugs in Marrero today.

The initial wave of the apocalypse will be a wild ride. Hope I’m around to see it.

The river is at a near record low. A salt water wedge (salt water is denser than fresh water) moves up the river during low water events. This has happened multiple times over the years. The USACE builds a "dam" with dredged material across the river bottom in Plaquemines Parish to stop the salt water flow. This happened this year over a month ago.

The municipal water intakes are deeper (not sure what depth) in the river and are susceptible to salt water contamination. It would really be some shite if a plant or plants cooling water or process water was contaminated. So the Corps builds their "dam".

It’s affecting Plaquemine right now and is creeping up the river due to low river levels from lack of rain. There’s salt water intrusion at the bottom of the river flowing in from the gulf. It will affect drinking water in Plaquemine now and then St. Bernard, Orleans and Jefferson as it moves up river.

All of the local news stations started telling people to stock up on water last night and today it looks like a hurricane and pandemic had a baby. People have lost their minds.

I haven’t seen anything on here about a salt wedge in the Mississippi on here. What are the alarmist saying about saltwater in the river?

When people, mainly media members, present/report normal information with eerie music in the background while using words and phrases that sound so dire. Like they’re trying to scare people.

See all of 2020 & 2021.

Neither does Washington Parish. The NO news stations make a big deal about something that’s probably not going to happen and then cover the so-called news stories they created.

Why don't ppl just turn on their hoses and add fresh water to the river?

Problem solved.

People are buying the fricking water in bulk. My aunt in Chalmette drove to Mandeville for water today. It’s fricking bananas.

Just add some sugar to the salt water ... voila, Gatorade!

This isn’t the first time it’s happened. However, this might be the worst drought/record temps for prolonged periods we’ve seen in our lifetimes. You can probably catch reds and flounder in river around Chalmette right now.

Just wait until the Mississippi can no longer be stopped from taking the Atchafalaya route to the Gulf.

So what you're saying is, I should...

1) rent a trailer
2) buy out all the water at Sam's and Costco
3) ????
4) Profit
