The Huns vs. The Monguls

If these two Nomadic empires waged war against each other, who would come out victorious?
Both came out of Central Asia, both terrorized the major powers of the world during their time. Both empires reached their pinnacle under a charismatic and seemingly unbeatable leader, and quickly broke apart after he was dead. But who wins head to head assuming both of them are at their peaks?
For the sake of discussion we have to assume they aren't in fact the same people just in different times (which is possible), and we have to assume weaponry is more or less equal, since the Monguls had 1000 yrs of innovation on their side.

Do the Monguls go back 1,000 years, and have to use Hun equipment, or do the Huns move up 1,000 years, and have to use Mongul equipment?
Edit: Or, should we assume the question is "who wins, everything being equal....a buncha Orientals lead by AtH, or the same buncha Orientals lead by GK".

Life on steppe changed little if at all during those thousand years. I say Mongols, Genghis khan's greatest asset was his ability to recognize talent and inspire loyalty in those talented individuals he conquered, his depth chart of capable and brilliant military officers was stacked not to mention advancement was based largely on merit. FYI the Mongol empire lasted for a few generations after his death. His grandson kublai khan was a historic "great" in his own rite

Basically the same peoples, so probably a stalemate. According to Dan Carlin, the only reason one group looks more modern is because the stuff they were stealing from the empires around them was getting/looking more modern. otherwise their way of life hadn’t changed in thousands of years.
