I had a scratched eye. I was told I couldn't return to work till I get it checked out. I go to CVS and they said they have nothing for medicine. I go to CVS nurse station and they tell me with my insurance that urgent care will be much cheaper. I go to urgent care and they tell me that I'll owe a $50 co-pay for the doctor to see me to write me a prescription. I happily pay that am go on my way. This is two weeks ago. I go back in today to the urgent care place today and tell me that I owe $300 and that they sent my bill to collections (which in fact they diidn't so I don't know why they told me they did)a week ago. No email. No letter. Nothing. I am confused and pissed.

RIP credit score

Dispute it asap

They must have you confused with someone else. They should wait for 90 days of non payment before sending to collections

Would you like the liberal response or the conservative response? I can do both.

Cool story, white trash.

Why is it the trashiest people always have time to dick around on the internet all day?

If you had listened to your parents and did better in school, you wouldn't be in this situation, now would you?

The correct answer is also the simpliest answer.

Step1: Get off the damn internet.
Step2: Pull out your insurance card and dial the number on the back.
Step3: Call and raise hell with them

That's what I just finished doing. It's a he/said she said between the medical group and insurance.

Medical group:We submitted the claim. Blame your insurance for not accepting it.

Insurance: They told you the wrong figure. Prove it and call them out on it.

Oh, and supposedly it wasn't sent to collections. I don't know why they fiirst told me that.

No way they sent it to collections 2 weeks after service.

I call BS.

There is no way anyone sent something to collections two weeks after services rendered. It usually takes a month or so to get insurance reconciled.

The reason you got screwed over is because you should have went to an eye doctor. Not the pharmacy or an urgent care.

If it happened at work, then your employer is responsible for taking care of it. They also should have brought you to the clinic themselves.
If it didn't happen at work, then you probably shouldn't have said anything to them or went to an eye doctor to begin with. Get some visine and man up.
