The first car to hit the disabled car looked like it barely braked if at all. Just complete lack of paying attention. I hate coming to a complete stop on the interstate knowing there are people out there that drive that way.

It's the 110 in L.A. Those frickers don't give a shite. I saw a lane splitter on a motorcycle get flayed on the 405 and no one stopped but me.

When the video starts, is that not a cop? He has a spotlight, there is radio chatter…why would he not be out with lights on? Unless it’s just some guy that rides around in a big city with a spotlight and police scanner.

Complete idiocy to just stop in the middle of the freeway like that. ALWAYS get to the median.
ETA: I mean who's going to stop? The correct thing at most would be to pull over next to them on the median and put your flashers on and call the police. Wait for the police. Stopping behind that vehicle with only flashers is just asking to get your own car totaled.

I'd understand if big rigs are driving slow with their hazards on in front of me, they obviously know something is up and are doing so for a reason, so I'd make sure and try to follow their lead.

It doesn't appear that the disabled car had his lights on. The conditions seemed a bit foggy as well.

This happened several years back in L.A. A similar incident where a stalled vehicle was hit by multiple vehicles. A stringer caught the entire thing and ultimately put down his camera and rescued the driver from his burning vehicle.

Stopping on the shoulder is still dangerous but you have to be a complete idiot to break down and stop in a travel lane of the interstate like this guy was.

hard to say but you do realize if a main fuse blows on these modern vehicles you lose all lights and car wont run.
dont know whats going on, but you cant just assume he was able to get it to move, we dont know what happened to cause him to stop in the middle of the road
