Weeds are getting taller and taller in the new flower beds.
As traffic slows the weeds grow.

This is why you don’t design a road with miles of flowerbeds.

Apparently a fight between city and state ain’t helping. I’m in the minority but i like what they’ve done. It’s not perfect and needs some fixes but it’s slowed down the area and provides a more local feel to the area.

They manage to maintain the flower beds nicely on Causeway in Metairie, but then again, Metairie is red and Baton Rouge is blue.

Imagine spending money to reduce the number of travel lanes.

Watched video. $11,700,000.00 budget.

And they can’t spray a little roundup once a month or God forbid actually do the landscaping?

Politicians, “consultants” and brother in laws’ pockets all get greased while the actual work doesn’t get done. Why does this sound familiar?

Yep I agree. It was the right decision and I think it’s a positive for the area. Unfortunately just like everything else in BR the maintenance is lacking.

It’s Mayor Pete’s transportation plan. Have to get rid of the racist roads that harm persons of color.

I thought the traffic circle was going to be a disaster, but traffic gets through it much better than before

If it was designed to make the local gangs hug out their differences, it was worth it.

That building is awfully close to the parking lot.
They really should put larger and brigher yellow concrete barriers, anybody could have run over those and gotten close to a structure like that.

The Road Diet yet another example of the dysfunction and ineptitude of Baton Rouge

Project gets announced

It takes longer than projected

Goes over budget

After it’s finished, no one prepared for the logistics of maintaining the finished project.

No money for maintenance

Everyone blames each other while the blight continues unabated.

And people wonder why so few want to invest in Louisiana.

fricking great idea. Let's take a major travel artery in a town full of gridlock and traffic and make it slower.
