Whats the end game?

Louisiana is about to beat Texas in having it 6 lanes to Sabine River.

Texans will tell you they’ve redesigned that stretch of I10 about 8 times which is responsible for the delays. Take it FWIW.

The closer you get to Louisiana, the slower the road construction projects.

I-12 between Baton Rouge and Covington has been under construction for over 20 years…I think Texas is just trying to be like us

It’s to deter migration. It hasn’t worked.

Probably longer than that. I been going that way since 1975. Never remember a time it wasn’t under construction - my Texas family claim it is the 18 wheelers that use the part of I-10.

It's not just the first 5 miles.. they've been 6-laning from Beaumont to the state line for that long. I know this sounds made up but they're actually going to be finished in 2024. They're working on the last stretch now.

Once Louisiana finishes their work on I-10 and Texas finishes work west of Beaumont, I-10 will be 6 lanes from Sealy, Tx west of Katy all the way to Lake Charles. About 200 miles of interstate.

I don’t remember far enough back to know the last time I-10 west of Beaumont wasn’t under construction. It has been at LEAST 30 years.

We are looking to get away from highway construction there and pivot to building a great wall.
