The Eshima Ohashi Bridge In Japan Looks Absolutely Terrifying

Nearly a mile long, the bridge has a gradient of 6.1 percent on one side and 5.1 percent on the other, according to Yahoo. Cars gradually ascend, making it less scary for drivers than the bridge appears when photos are taken from a straight-on angle. In pictures, Eshima Ohashi definitely earns its "roller coaster bridge" nickname.
All we know is we'd hate to get in a traffic jam at the top.

San Francisco laughs at the Eshima Ohashi Bridge. In San Francisco they put stop signs at the top of the hill just to see if you can come to a stop and get going without rolling back into the car behind you.

I never drove in SF but definitely noticed the stop sign at the top of hills thing and thought how much a pain in the arse that is.
So many blind spots too with all the different elevations that meet at one intersection
Oh and frick that bridge

Meh, I've driven over the I 10 bridge in Lake Charles. Not scared.

Victor Manning took me over the old Huey P while a train was crossing. This bridge is nothing.

Yep, you learn to start off using the emergency brake in a manual tranny car.

Looks like a mile long of NOPE

Factor in the sheer number of Asian women driving on this thing and it shoots to the top of the list.

those angles make it look way worse than it is

Looks like the Japanese architect spent a little too much time playing with brio train sets as a kid. Every bridge i made looked pretty much like that.

I'm still trying to figure out how that is terrifying....

So dangerous and half of those idiots are driving in the wrong lane! That's crazy

Looks like someone used a telephoto lens to exaggerate the effect.

Especially when everyone is driving on the wrong side of the road
