Well she was changing the diaper of an ebola patient. Are you doing that?

But wouldn't the virus need an entry point, like an open wound or mucous membrane of some sort? Did she rub it in her eye?

Plenty of orifices in the head to have been an entry point

She probably didn't wash her hands and then ate or otherwise let her hands come in contact with her mouth.

Okay, but if you're stupid enough to do this, then why the hell are you near the patient anyways?! Do the doctors not counsel this people? It just seems weird.

What nursing school did she go to?

It's up to each person to follow the protocols. I read that some of the nurses in Spain are now complaining of inadequate personal protection equipment. That may be the case.

My point is if we want it contained, then why do you have nurses who aren't smart enough to wash their hands after they handle a diaper full of ebola mud?

Don't get me wrong, I have confidence in the medical community to contain this thing. It's just that reading stuff like that makes me scratch my head.

Because it likely happened in a quarantine that barely has running water and was more of improper hand sanitation than a failure to wash them. I probably could have worded that better. It's really unfathomable how poor conditions over there really are. They barely have the capability to give IV Fluids in an inpatient setting, which beds are wildly limited. And most of these patients are being cared for in tents.

What if a person coughs or sneezes? Are the sneeze/cough droplets considered a bodily fluid?

It's because he knew. He hid it from us but protected his friends/family.

I guess not unless it gets in your eye or a cut.

I read an article this past Friday that he was so weak he couldn't even talk on the phone.

He seemed capable of using the phone in this pic, but that was before.
