Going to Disney world only year after year isn’t exactly traveling.

My buddy took his wife and daughter there a few months ago and said he could’ve taken them to Hawaii for cheaper

Does he live in Hawaii? If not, the airfare would have been more than a full week at a deluxe resort with park hopper tickets.

My wife loves the place and we go about once every 4 years and the cost is not as much IMHO as others make it out to be. Besides Disney, my wife (no Pics) likes cruises and I've spent more on a shorter duration cruise than on a week at Disney in a deluxe resort.

I get that people hate it for what ever reason. What I don't get is people hate on it sooo bad that they try and act like they actually despise people that enjoy it (get over yourself). We typically do the beach (wow so much to do), we'e done the mountains, we've done DC and NYC and as stated cruises. IMHO Disney is the best bang for you buck. We've never been mid-summer when the crowds are probably unbearable but we've done end of May several times and Thanksgiving once. Wasn't that bad and IMHO better than sitting on a beach.

I agree a lot of it is dated. After a couple rides you are paying to walk through gift shops. I am done until the Star Wars hotel

Who cares what people do for enjoyment and happiness so long as it's harmless? Disney is a wonderful culmination of incredible human creativity, and it is manifested in tangible form at it's parks. That shite is exciting for some people, just like any other remarkable form of human entertainment.

Nah, your just being an a-hole.

Since I’ve been married and had kids we’ve been to Disney twice, and plan to go again in a year or two. I was not a Disney fanatic like my wife was.....until I went there. It’s just plain fun. Yes the foreigners lack social etiquette, but despite a handful of aggravations, the trips were awesome. The rides are fun, and my son loves every minute of it. It’s kind of hard to explain, but you are basically insulated from the shittiness of the rest of the world. The parks are spotless and if you go there with a plan, it’s enjoyable for the whole family.

If you are just some single dude, then I understand not knowing any better. If you have young kids, it’s a whole new experience.

Stop being a dick because some people like things you don’t. It’s possible to vacation other places as well as Disney.

Dude.

Stop replying if you're not going to grasp the basic concept of the thread. We get it, you have mouse ears tattooed on your nuts.

The point of the thread was people who do this so much that their kids have to suffer, that’s the issue.

Sorry. The OP sounds like more of the poor brother-in-law looking for something negative to say about the more affluent members of his family.

I guess kids could get burnt out on vacations in the same place. But I know people who go to 30a every year. Or skiing. What about every LSU home game? Is that too Much?

His whole OP reeks of jealousy over his relative having something he wants but cannot have.

We get it, you don’t understand why others do things so you are judging them based on what you don’t know. You aren’t shocking anyone with your statements. Plenty of “bro’s” that think they are cool like to hate on things they don’t know about due to some ingrained sense of inferiority.

Whenever you grow up, and unfortunately reproduce, you may understand that your opinion of the world isn’t the only opinion and not often the right opinion.

In short, stop being a.dick.

I have a few friends who take trashy arse cruises once a year. I don’t get it. Not a great fan of Disney either, but why bitch about what other people enjoy. I spend $30,000 to $40,000 on hunting and fishing each year, some people probably think that’s nuts too. Just do whatever floats your boat, even if it’s a trashy arse Carnival Cruiseliner!

Thread title isn’t helping, but imagine if your thread was titled “The Cult of Carnival Cruises.”

The same non-reading assholes hard legging for Disney would be absolutely shitting all over the cruise lines...all without actually reading the OP to see the point of the thread.

I’ve been once. It was fun but that was enough. I don’t get the obsession some people have. The food is absolutely terrible, crowds are insane, and the rides less thrilling than six flags. It was a fun experience to take my son to when he was younger but after I went neither he nor I had any desire to do it again.

True, but people getting butthurt doesn't bother me. I'm an OTR trucker and I post pics from all over the country and Canada of my travels and all the time this person comments "OMG it's so pretty I wanna go see it!", then goes to Disney that summer and posts 500 pictures of her kid with the same damned costumes in the same damned places, eating the same meals in the same restaurants. I try to point out that for half the cost of Disney they could take their kid to Montana, rent a car and a cabin, and experience something else. It's ridiculous IMO.
