I once had the door guy at a bar on 6th Street in Austin tell me my real Louisiana driver's license was fake then refuse to give it back to me. I had to threaten to go get a cop before he gave it back and let me in the bar.

Had a door guy in Houston my first weekend here do that. He told me he'd sell it back to me for forty dollars.

I got the cop that was standing 20 feet away, explained the situation to him and told him he could run my info when he got the I'd back to make sure it's real.

After I got it back the cop through the door guy in cuffs and explained that what he was trying to do was illegal, whether the id was fake or not.

It was a pretty good instant karma moment.

It's not that the guy fell for the ID, it's that he didn't care.

I had a fake with my name and picture on it, and even the official mdot holograms because my friend who made them stole a roll of holograms from the dmv. And it still eventually got taken up, to this day I don't know how the guy caught it because it was identical to a real one

guess nowadays the only way to beat it is through borrowing someone else's.

You can print your own on a card printer if you can get the holograms.

The way my friend did it was you had to report your real license lost and get a new one, so the old one wouldn't have the hole punched in it.

He would then use paint thinner to wipe the front of the card clean after scanning it on to a computer, leaving the bar code on the back. Then he took your picture, uploaded it on the computer, photoshopped the card that was scanned to show the proper info, and reprint on the card with new holograms.

He got the holograms by having a friend fake a seizure at the dmv and then stealing an extra roll off the guys desk when nobody was looking

ID chief was goat. Every bar in tigerland knew it was fake and made me buy it back if I was dumb enough to try using it. Worked like a charm at AM Mart and Akasha though

One of my sons had one from a Cuban on his baseball team. He knew enough Spanish to pass any questioning but my son had dark hair and a good tan as well.

As a teenager I used my older brother's drivers license to get into the porn theatre on Elysian Fields back in the late 60s. My brother was 6 inches taller and 40 pounds heavier but the ticket booth guy just had to look at something before grabbing the money.
