Pros:
Plenty of good food and drink
Plenty of napping
Wall to wall football
Don't have to worry about gifts
Everyone has something to be thankful for
No work the next day
Beginning of 4 day weekend

I can't think of any cons

if your family is trashy.

In my entire life our family (both mom and dad's side, whichever side we went to that year) has never had anything remotely resembling a fight.

For those who hunt I'll add that you can haul arse Thursday night and return Sunday without hearing a single peep from the wife!

Or you can actually like your family.

Note: if family fights/shitty family is a "con" then it's a con for all holidays and it's a wash.

You realize that not all companies take off the day after, right?

That doesn't make Christmas Day a better Holliday. For you it just cancels out the day off after meaning anything.

You forgot a PRO- no tie to having to go to church that day- in any religious tradition.

Typically people are off for good Friday and have to work the day after Easter.

Christmas is pretty good but can't top the list of pros thanksgiving has.

And it also gives you an extra non-vacation weekday hunt if you want to forego family activities.

It's my favorite. I don't like the expectations of gift giving/receiving associated with Christmas.
