DFW is already a mess. These idiots are flying around on the roads.

Twitter - Dallas Texas TV

All of the airports are also on a ground stop.

quote:

The @FAA has issued ground stops at @DFWAirport and @DallasLoveField because of snow and ice. More than 750 cancellations in and out of both airports.

Wasnt that massive pileup in DFW area a year or two ago from weather similar to this? Think it was around Thanksgiving.

Drove up I35W at around 5:30am this morning to my gym and saw at least half a dozen wrecks between downtown and Golden Triangle.

On the way back I didn't even touch I35W as my GPS navigated me around it. But according to my GPS there were 7 wrecks on my normal I35W path.

Driving to Austin in 30 minutes. Hopefully its not too bad once I get out of Tarrant County. Drivers are idiots. Not just driving on ice, but you have idiots with blinkers on driving 10 MPH on roads that are perfectly dry and ice-free.

When driving to Colorado a couple weeks ago I saw 3 rear ends when I hit a snowstorm in Northeastern New Mexico. It's because idiots don't give enough space between them and the car in front of them. Even if you are driving slow - if you start skidding you want plenty of space between the car infront of you, but idiots cant comprehend that. Guarantee you thats what caused all the wrecks this morning

Also the bros in giant jacked up trucks don't realize mud tires become ice skates on icy roads.

Crap show in Little Rock. Kids went to school, only for them to call it off a couple hours later and asked parents to come pick them up within an hour. This is devil weather.

Exactly - almost every wreck I saw this morning involved a truck. Saw a truck slide the wrong way on I35W Southbound after spinning out in I35W between Western Center and Basswood and it took out 2 other cars in the process

According to Google Maps there are 9 wrecks right now between Fort Worth and Dallas on I-30

Used to love watching the news during snow and ice events in DFW. Hours of cars doing really low IQ stuff.

Was watching the news this morning and Dallas looked like a train wreck before rush hour.

Just got out west of fort worth to grab some lunch and roads are very minorly wet but getting icy. Didn't slip any.

Curious to see exactly how much precipitation we get.

Fiance went out to walk the dog this morning and said a few flakes were falling, but nothing else around us.

Day started with frozen mist and it’s pretty much stayed that way so far. Afternoon carpool is going to be fun.

I was surprised they had school today at all. Likely bc they just took a winter weather day followed by a 4 day weekend. I think they pushed it too much. I might pick my son up before 4:30 release just so I don’t have to drive at that time.

Yep. Just picked mine up from school. Line for checkout was wrapped around the front of the building. Rain was freezing on my windshield while driving and nearly bit it dragging the garbage can up the sloped driveway. Had to spread out the de-icer much earlier than I expected.
