Family has ZERO credibility now.

Every boy EVER has wanted to touch a BB gun.

Funny thing was all the news outlets where saying, "everyone was unarmed." After that people started cop bashing on FB. Then after an hour, they found a gun. Then ppl started saying, "they should have been able to apprehend the kid without shooting."

I have some family members and friends who work for HPD. So we have heard a lot of the information that is coming from the police, not the family of the criminal.

Live in that ever changing elevated mobile home off of 311...the big lot with the purple bridge and it looks like Dubois' Nursery threw up all over their yard. Draw your own conclusions.

Yeah. The owners/developers are basically your cross the highway neighbors if you're in Sugarwood. They also own the strip center where Wingstop is (and the lingerie store in it).

They're a classy group...got tons of money from basically owning all of MLK, but still live in a mobile home.

But, anyway, yeah infrastructure kind of sucks.

And it seems like this shooting will end up being a non-story. Black cop responds to a burglary and shot a black kid that seemed to have been carrying...nothing to see here.

Barios and that area were the nice area in Houma at one point.

The Thompsons just built a multi million dollar boat house @ the end of Hollygrove on the intercoastal.

My inlaws live on Sherman St, people are buying up old homes & bulldozing them to rebuild nice new homes all around them.

Village East was a good neighborhood in the 80s to early 90s. We had fist fights but it never went beyond that. Some of my very best friends from then were AA. Sad the place to turned to shite.

Yeah it went down hill pretty quick in the last 10 years. I grew up in Bourg in the 80's and Village east was a pretty nice neighborhood back then.

I got a bad feeling about all these "luxury apartments" that are being built on the westside.

All of these apartments are slapped together to a degree. I could only imagine what a true luxury apartment would go for here. I pay $969 for a one bedroom.

Very specific there isn't it.

It was privately owned land. The owner can sell to another Conexxxions if they wanted to. I agree that this town needs some major city planning.

Me too. Them coming to town has been a dead story along with Izzo's. The only thing I have heard is Walk On's next March in the plot next to Regions on MLK right in front of that new hotel.

Cameron Tillman, 14, was shot on Tuesday evening, according to state troopers. Tillman was a student at Ellender High School.

The shooting happened just after 5:40 p.m. on Bakers Street at Kirkglen Loop.

Officers say that two deputies responded to reports of a burglary at an abandoned home. Responding officers reported that five male subjects had entered the residence armed with handguns.

While attempting to make contact with the suspects inside, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office states that a patrolman shot an armed suspect. The suspect has been identified as Cameron Tillman. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three of the juveniles were arrested; one escaped. No one else was injured during this incident.

The name of the deputy involved is being withheld at this time. Officers say that the deputy involved is an African-American, 7-year member of the patrol division, a field training officer and a member of the TPSO SWAT team.

Neighbors who gathered at the scene said there was ongoing tension between police and some residents.

"As a citizen, I am outraged," said neighbor Felisha Williams "I believe that they could have apprehended the child without killing the child. That is my belief. I think that they have been through extensive training that they can go and get him without killing."

Blaise Pellegrin, Ellender High School's principal, states that extra grief counselors will be on hand at the school Wednesday morning.

Police said the investigation was just getting underway, and more details would be released later.

Sorry the kid wasn't smart enough to point a firearm at a police officer.

I believe Ford is putting up the money for them to move over there. As for the lot, it probably will be an eyesore for a good while. Prices on MLK are so inflated that people are looking elsewhere in town.
