What is a good price for a termite contract?

I've got one with Louisiana Pest Control.
$150/year, they check for termites, every year they say there's no sign of them.
I'm not sure what happens if they do find them or what this "contract" covers.
It's time to pay again and I'm considering shopping around if this is a bad price.
Is this a good price? Small foundation, about 1500 sq. feet.

TIA

$150/year,
Seems about right. I have Arrow and I pay about that much annually and then the $400 every 5th year I believe.

Is this not a good thing?

If it is a new construction home or is less than 5 years old then find out who did the pre-construction treatment. They will be a whole lot cheaper up front and usually will fight to keep your business. If it is not then get ready for a pretty expensive first treatment and then they usually are reasonable for the remaining treatments.

so i take it you're looking to pay a littl less annually, but you're OK if they find some every couple of years?

Its basically termite "insurance". They lay down the chemicals and do a quick sweep, and they insure themselves if you get them. Most of the contracts should cover up to like $250,000 in termite damage. Which unless you are completely ignorant of a huge portion of your house, even if you get termites you will most likely catch them before they've done $10,000 in damage.

I would say $150/ year is very good. I pay twice that but I have a $250,000 "bond" or the insurance. Not sure if that is how it works everywhere though.

Haha, it is, it just feels like a waste..but yeah, I guess that is MUCH better situation than if they find something.

I need to think of it like insurance.

Prairieville.....I use Arrow Termite and pay $96 every 6mos. and $400 every 5 yrs for retreatment and insurance. If you don't want the insurance, you don't have to do the 5 yr treatment.

I'm so paranoid about termites, especially this time of year. Once I find one dead on the bathroom floor I go around the house inspecting everything.

what does the insurance cover? I have Arrow too and I don't recall having anything regarding insurance in my policy

ETA: I just called them. I'm covered up to $200k in damages as long as it's not moisture related

I use Baton Rouge pest control. $100 annually. Nice people. Family owned and operated and all that jazz.
