Not if both of you work in BR. Your traffic situation(LP to BR 7-9am and BR-LP 4-6pm) is the worstest in the STATE.

Not true. Laplace to downtown NO is worse. The Denham to BR traffic is just Range to Airline most days. 15 minutes typical.

But evenings are obviously worse. But that's the whole system. PA to BR. BR to Ascension/LP. Anywhere around LSU.

Zachary is a decent place. People from there act like it is a lot better than it actually is.

I don't find anything special about it, and I'm not sure how good their schools are (regardless of their ranking).

Good schools that offer a lot of academic and extracurricular activities; however, the area has very little industry to support their tax base (GP is the only major employer), which means that property taxes are their main "bell cow" with regards to funding the school. Lately, the school system isn't getting the tax hikes they used to, and they are having budget issues they've never faced before - it makes me wonder how much longer the schools will keep those lofty rankings...

Also, for a small town, the traffic is horrendous; the restaurants are expensive; but it's a very safe and nice place to live.
