Do your own research. There are weekly threads on it.

They're convenient if you're from here. At the moment you'd be limited to Carnival. They have sailings year round, NCL and Royal Caribbean only sail 6 months of the year, and you just missed them.

There are some boats that float on the river and they go places. Booze is high on these boats.

They are fun. Get the Balcony always so you can have a quiet place to go.

They all go to the same places, Norweigen nickel and dimes you a lot more and the food isn't as good as Carnival.. Some people hate Carnival more, because it's more "affordable".
ie cheaper people. But if you stick to the suites you wouldn't care anyway.

Go to Wal Mart.

Imagine being with everyone in that store on a ship for 4 days. There's your answer.

Which is why you do the 7 day cruise.

That's not entirely true. They're just isn't a definitive time when they're coming back.

Thanks for all of the astute input. Looking for a quick anniversary trip and I can't take a lot of time off of work this time of year.

If you can't do a 7 day, don't bother. The clientele is definitely worse on the shorter sailings.

Thanks Lunchbox. If I could take that much time, we'd just fly somewhere in the Caribbean.

really. On Norweigen you have to pay extra for every decent restaurant and the food is no where near as good as it was on the Dream.

Comparing the Dawn to the Dream.

Check out CruiseCritic, I would say that's the consensus. Having said that, my next cruise in fall is on the Dawn again, but only because it was an itinerary I wanted.
(plus the steakhouse and french restaurant were good, even if they cost $35-50 extra pp)
