Looking at a couple of houses in that area. I really like them. Can anyone give me any insight on the area?

Not a bad choice. Good luck with the traffic in the area though.

Are you talking about the townhomes? Or the actual neighborhood? I have a friend that lives in the townhomes, they're pretty nice. The neighborhood seems nice too.

Traffic is a bitch though. Prayers sent.

The actual neighborhood. It seemed like a nice area and quiet.

I hate to be that guy, but with the move back to BR inevitable, I really don't want to get caught up in a bad area. I've been gone for several years so I am a little out of the loop.

Is it a lot of families with kids or just older people. We were looking during the day, so I really couldn't get a good feel. I assume everyone was at work.

Camelot in Marksville would be a better choice! If your in to the whole AP thing.

Not a bad area, but starting to get worse. Traffic is really bad. Couple home break-ins a year in the surrounding area. But the houses are pretty decent and you should have good neighbors that take care of their houses/yards

FWIW, I lived in Woodland Ridge, the neighborhood surrounding Camelot, for about 10 years until I moved out for college. And my mom still lived there til about 6 months ago. I had a friend that lived in Camelot and I would run through Camelot a few times a week on my runs. But my mom moved out of Woodland Ridge to get a newer home, the houses in that Woodland Ridge/Camelot area are somewhat outdated

And make sure you have patience for traffic if you decide to buy. Episcopal traffic and a poorly designed neighborhood make it difficult to get out in the mornings

I would imagine that it's a mix of both.

That's a good sign. No degenerates hanging out in the front yard all day is a good thing.

Does anyone know what elementary schools are in that area?

The town homes are nice. Homes are nicer on Percival, Lancelot, and Galahad. Check out neighboring, Woodland Ridge for some even better homes.

That area is depreciating fast. I'd suggest staying away.

Public schools are Woodlawn, Shenandoah, Broadmoor. Private are Episcopal and St Jean Viennay and St Thomas More

Really? I was looking at comps yesterday, and the area seems pretty stable. They are holding their own from what I saw.

What are you basing this on? I am legitimately asking.

How so? They look like nice homes to me, albeit a little older.

Break-ins are becoming more frequent in the area. Houses are looking older now, appliances need to be changed out in most homes. If you go towards Tiger Bend or Old Jefferson there are newer, slightly smaller homes at a similar price

Where aren't break ins frequent?? I know some nice areas in Ascension and Livingston that are constantly grappling with break ins. And these are neighborhoods with houses at or above 350,000
