The dolphin who loved me: the Nasa-funded project that went wrong

Saw this on Reddit and it was too good not to share. Kind of a long read, but this story has everything:

[X] Getting dolphins to talk
[X] Lady who jerks off dolphins
[X] LSD use
[X] Jeff Bridges
[X] Hustler Magazine
[X] Neuroscience
[X] Dubious research ethics
[X] Carl Sagan
[X] Dolphin Suicide

Dolphins are smart.

They can even make their own fleshlights

Reading the article, I definitely got the feeling that she got more freaky with the dolphin than she's letting on.

I have no idea what you speak of but when Howard Stern interviewed the guy who fell in love with a dolphin I was all fins.

My wife gives me the dolphin all the time. Any time I try to get frisky she turns around, looks me in the eye, and says "eh eh" while waving the no finger at me.

It almost seems like that one did it on porpoise.

I think I recognize that porpoise. His name is Gil. He works at the Shell Station, where I took my Stingray when it was overheating. Gil said he could tell I had blown a seal. I told him to leave my private life out of it and JUST FIX THE CAR. I had to yell......because he's hard of herring.

I remember chatting with Gil. He used to play for the Dolphins. But when I met him he was down on his luck. He could barely keep his head....below water. So I tipped him a fin on the way out and dropped a sand dollar into the box for Jerry's squids....just for the halibut.

After leaving Gil's place at the Shell Station, I obviously needed a drink. So I stopped at the Sandbar. It was a real dive. I ordered a glass of Port. This place was crowded. We were packed in like sardines.

I met this Asian chick. Sweet yellowtail. Her name was Lilly. She was wearing fishnets. Said she was under a lot of pressure. Started saying things I couldn't fathom. It was a deep conversation.
