I'm down to two:

2017 Certified Tacoma with low miles, access (extended cab), base trimline, and a 4-cylinder engine. Nothing fancy, but a good truck which will probably run for years. 3 year, 36k mile bumper to bumper warranty, and 7 year, 100k mile powertrain warranty. $26,000.00

2016 NEW Colorado Z71 new with 1 mile, extended cab, Z71 trimline (bells, whistles, and leather trim), 4x4 with a 4-cylinder. Warranty isn't nearly as good as the Toyota. $27,000.00

Well, what say ye?

What motor on the colorado?

I'd recommend you stay away from a GM 4-cyl motor. I have one and it is complete shite

I'm a Tacoma guy, but out of those I'd probably go with the 4x with a V6.

Tacoma. Easiest decision ever.

ETA: You're getting worked on that price on the Tacoma though. Should be able to do better.

Where? I got the GM Discount, with the V6 without the Z71 package and it wasn't 27K. That's a great deal. You're describing a 34K truck.

Where are you getting that from? I had priced that out at about $10k more, the only difference being an extended bed.

Hell, they've got a Colorado WT on the lot at my local dealership priced at $32K.

One is a city and the other is a state, so it's hardly a fair comparison.

Diesel is about 3K more.

Well I don't know anything about the reliability of the 3.6L V6.

I can only speak to the fact I have had issues with the GM 2.4L 4-cyl

Cracked exhaust manifold
Multiple o2 sensors
Purge valve
Transmission slips intermittently

Only has 100K miles which some will say is all you could expect but I disagree.
