Maybe the police arrested the wrong guy. I dunno. This is terrible.

Other things aside, when the hell are they going to get a background sheet and a camera at eye level for mugshots? It is obvious they are using some cheap arse webcam on a desktop. Embarrassing.

Maybe when the new jail is finished there will be a new intake facility? This setup has been used since Katrina.

Didn't A&E's The First 48 really screw this up for the DAs office

But if you read this place you would know that the jails are full of guys that were caught with a dime bag.

6 months in prison and they couldn't get an indictment? WTF

I wish somebody that knows would chime in but I think that The First 48 TV had some evidence that they hid then used in the program that the judge ruled couldn't be used against this guy in trial .. They really hurt the DAs office in this case

It's finished I thought. At least I can see that everyone driving into the city on I10 during the day gets a neat welcoming reception from a couple hundred orange jumpers peering at them down from Gusman's lovely glass faced edifice right there on the edge of the highway.
Who possibly thought that was a good idea and set up?

My money says this piece of shite will be back in the news within six months for committing a major violent crime. It is better to kill him now than chance it.

I haven't heard this, but if someone knows please share. I really like the show but that's a horrible move if true.

It isn't true. The first 48 issue was in Shawn Peterson's case. Won't affect his ability to be tried or convicted.
Pizza case isn't Leon's fault, it's a bad case. Can only work with what the police produce.

This is the truth. It is entirely too common in high profile cases for politics to take a front seat to justice. The police, under pressure from the public, will make a quickie arrest on thin evidence and then dump the case on the DA. The DA, with nothing worthy of a conviction, has no choice but to drop charges. The DA ends up holding the bag even though it isn't their fault.
