Hotel or Cabin

Hilton Garden Inn is nice

Hampton Inn downtown is old but a great location and free breakfast

Best Western Downtown is ok

We stayed in a cabin a few miles out of town. It was nice and had some privacy out in the woods a bit.

Some cabins I see for rent are right on top of each other. May as well be at a hotel.

We rented through Jackson Mountain Homes. LINK

If you want to stay in town - Best Western Twin Islands. Ask for the family suite. 3 rooms, fireplace, and overlooks the stream. It's very close to all the downtown spots.

Rick is looking forward to the late night tickle fights.

Again, just like last Summer at Gulf Shores.

Stay near one of the 100 pancake restaurants. You can't go wrong.

Yes you can. The one downtown along the strip is the best.....can't remember the name exactly but you will see the line out the door. The others are not that great

It's the Pancake Pantry I think

Zoders Inn -- nice, super cheap, right on the creek, indoor pool/hot tub

And yes, Pancake Pantry is seriously legit -- Caribbean Pancakes with peanut butter syrup

Research a cabin called Lasting Impressions, you won't regret it. Sleeps three families very comfortably, and plenty to keep the kids occupied. The best view we have ever had in the area. Good luck.

You want a condo or a cabin? The winter makes some roads icy so a cabin needs to be in a safe place. I've heard several people get stranded without power or couldn't get to the cabin at all due to ice. But I highly suggest you do your homework and fine one because the views can be incredible. I like the Ski Mtn side because you can get views in a few directions. There are some nice roads just north of town closer to Pigeon Forge as well. Or you can get a condo in town to let you walk everywhere. There are several older ones and a few new ones.

I have done both cabins and condo. Wit two small kids the best place we have stayed is hands down the Resort at Governors crossing. It is in Pigeon Forge but all of that area is basically the same. We have booked a two bedroom suite with Kitchen at very reasonable prices. It is clean and also has 2 indoor pools on site.

Not sure what you are looking for but this place is perfect for us. You can actually submit an offer to their site and they will counter with a lower than advertised rate. Nothing but good things to say about them.

this has nice views but is an old hotel remodeled. Rooms are somewhat dated and small

I've stayed there. It's fine. Rooms seemed like pretty standard hotel fare to me. Property has nice amenities including a multilevel indoor pool with slides. Kids loved it.
