Success in Voiding U-Verse Contract Due to Signal Issues?

Switched to U-Verse in March. Have had nothing but problems since the installation. Slow/no internet connection, TV signal dropping or freezing almost daily. They've sent me a new receiver and "enhanced" the signal to the line...nothing has changed. I've had to reset the receiver and the TV box twice just during the CWS.

I'm calling tomorrow to drop them, but I'm sure I'm locked into some promotional plan for 12 months. Anyone had success in them just dropping the issue given the troubles I've had?

Been having this issue at my office for the past year. Unfortunately, I bided my time and will be dropping them shortly as soon as I can coordinate Cox install with my IT guy.

They're sending a tech out later in the week...but I don't expect much.

How could you not make that happen by tomorrow? I mean if you can't make that happen within 24 hours you need a new IT guy.

I haven't done it, but I've never felt cable contracts were very strong. When I had Comcast, I would agree to 2 years in order to get one year promotional prices, and after that first year, threaten to leave in order to restart the 2 year/1 year promo deal. I always wondered why they didn't tell me to deal with it since I agreed to two years.

Went through the same thing 4 years ago.. Inside and outside technicians at my house no less than 10 times.. I finally cancelled and they tried giving me shite but I was persistent because of the issues and they eventually let me out.. Thing is, I wanted it and enjoyed the interface and quality more than cox but I couldn't continue being a guinnie pig for my area.

I'm not an IT guy but I would just tell one I need you to connect with someone at Cox and schedule an install before you leave for the day. If they couldn't handle it, I would get a new one the next week that could. Go get em!

Dangit, I wished I would have thought about doing this way!

I know you aren't an IT guy, but are you available as a life coach?
