In need of some stucco repair on the front of my house. Can anyone recommend a contractor? Had one guy come look at it and hes saying just eyeballing it around 5000-8000 depending on if he finds any wood damage. Still waiting on his written quote.

I was thinking I just needed it refinished to cover up some hairline cracks and areas separating around the windows where they use Styrofoam for that decorative shite. He sounds like he wants to redo most of it. House is only six years old.

For that price I damn near want to demo the stucco myself and have someone come back with brick.

Because stucco in the moist temperate South is a bad idea and half the time it isn't installed correctly to begin with.

Thought about that, wasn't sure if there was a brick ledge already. The rest of the house is brick.

I hate it, But now I'm looking for someone that can install it correctly. Just thought that first price was on the high side.

Incorrect installation is a safe assumption but properly installed it is a fine veneer and no different than brick.

Call Tommy Deen 1-225-266-2281

He is a true old plasterer and won't jack you around.

And who was the one that looked at it previously?

I despise stucco. The quote is probably fair. To repair stucco is expensive.

Call the one I listed. He is about the only plasterer left in town and if nothing else will give you a heads up in the right direction.

Gave, Him a call. Real nice guy and he just saved me about 5 grand. Said my stucco wasn't in bad shape at all. Just needed some cracks to be caulked and repainted with elastomeric paint to hide the hairline cracks.

It's amazing that there are lots of people that are willing to just suck it up and fork over the cash in situations like these.

Ozuna did a good job for me. They redid about half of the front of the house and repaired a pretty big crack on the corner. They also completely redid a couple of dormers that were in rough shape and pressure washed the whole thing for a little over $3k.

I've been around a long time and I don't jack people around.

Good to hear Magnum. Glad it worked out.
