Got pulled over for not stopping completely at a stop sign when I exited off I-49. Anyone know about how much this is going to cost or if there is any chance of them throwing it out since I am not familiar with the area? The trooper said there may be a chance of it being reduced to a non moving violation.

I love when they say this shite. In other words, "thanks for paying my salary, dude."

Stop signs aren't red and right on the side of the road where you are from?

Usually a BS ticket. I've been stopped 2-3 times, by the same cop, for this shite. No ticket, just his BS lecture.

A few years back I got stopped for speeding by a trooper near the Evangeline / St. Landry Parish line on LA 104.

He must have been having a good day, he checked out my Jeep and said, "I want one like that" and then gave me a ticket for no seatbelt.

25 bucks. I was happy with that.

The sign says STOP, not SLOW DOWN. My kids love this when I tell them.

This is all they need on a stop sign to get me to obey the law. Anyone that wouldn't stop to look at this just ain't right in the head.

Send a letter to DA. Tell him you are sorry and will never do it again. Tell him you are more than happy to pay the fine but would prefer to avoid a moving violation. Call and get your court date extended. Usually you'll get a letter about six weeks out reducing it and telling you how much to pay.

DONT MISS THE COURT DATE. That's harder to unfrick. If you call, they'll almost always push it back for you.

They just want money. They don't care if it's a speeding ticket, stop sign ticket or an expired brake tag. Just call them and they will reduce it to a non moving violation.

Just curious, did this occur at the Ville Platte exit or further south? If so, I take that exit quite a bit and could see how someone could get a ticket there.
