This was a tragedy when it happened. However, anybody who ever watched his show knew that SOMEDAY something was gonna happen to him. he did crazy stuff with animals all the time. especially snakes. I am surprised he wasn't bitten by a Taipan or black mamba or a King Brown snake. Those are all aggressive frickers and very, very deadly.

Im not saying he didnt know what he was doing, or that he was unsafe, but when you put yourself in harms way...sooner or later you are going to get harmed!

I remember him getting bit on the nose by some little harmless green snake. It latched on and he just laughed.

Indeed. His passing was a real shot to the heart.

It's probably not all that exciting or unexpected. Probably just shows Steve getting close to the sting ray, then bam, sting ray fires its barb at his chest, Steve slumps over, screen goes blank.

So you didn't watch the interview?

The guy said they had a rule that if anything bad happened they would keep filming. He captured the underwater footage and a second guy on the boat continued to roll footage for over an hour while they did CPR getting him back to a dock and medivac helicopter.

He said he doesn't know who has the footage, but he hopes it never sees the light of day.

It will be epic if it ever gets leaked. Of course, that said, the guy probably has the footage and this is the opening he needed to pump it up and sell it.
