My personal favorite thing about Staring is they do all these improvements so the speed can be raised... just to have some congressman bitch "NOT IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD" and the speeds are still way too low.
I know, 35mph is ridiculous!

You should think more about cutting up their license if that becomes an issue.
Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.
The signs do not impede driver views and are there per regulation.
Don't know what else you'd like me to say.

Those signs make me very angry on a daily basis.

Isn't the speed limit like 30 or 35 on Staring?

I don't know how dumb the drivers really are, but the reason there are so many signs is because most instances of a driver ending up on the wrong side of the street occur when they turn left from a side street onto a divided roadway, and for whatever reason do not realize it is a divided road and tur into the nearest lane going the wrong way. To reduce the odds of this happening, the wrong way signs are placed to the left of every side street that enters the divided street.

I mean there is a sign every forty feet. It's unreal.

I posted about this earlier on the thread about the signs warning of icing on bridges. Way to steal my thunder.

it was a big change from what was once there and they have to make everyone aware until they get used to it. The signs will come down years later.

Also,do you realize that people pronounce the name of the street incorrectly? The correct pronunciation, based on the spelling, should be "stare-ing".
I wasn't positive without research. I found this on Smiley.
I think you're incorrect.

Natural causes
C. Ward Bond thanks Lucy Staring Pope for setting the record straight about Joseph Staring, namesake of Staring Lane:
“Apparently, the rumor of Joseph Staring’s murder was greatly exaggerated.
“I learned the story as a boy hanging out at Schwing’s store at the corner of Staring Lane and Highland Road.”
Says Lucy, “Joseph Staring, my father’s uncle, did not buy Chatsworth Plantation in 1920, nor was he murdered by a neighbor.”
She cites a State-Times story from 1920 saying he died at his home “following a stroke of apoplexy.”
Lucy says the Staring name “is from the Stahrings who came to the Mohawk Valley of New York in the mid-1700s.”

Are the people in this city really dumb enough that we need 100 signs on both sides of the 4 lane street that say "WRONG WAY" and "DO NOT ENTER" facing the opposite direction of the oncoming traffic? I figured that was just common sense...
Looks pretty tacky, but I'm sure it's some new regulation that required the signs.
