Any teachers out there know what the cutoff is for the income requirements for public schools in St. Tammany for pre-k? My friend is married, makes about 50k and is considered “high income”. Someone else said they make 40k a year and that’s “high income”. Is the minimum 35k?

Is it based off a 4 person household?

50k is a lot for a single parent.

That might be for the West Bank (West side of the parish). The east side will be higher as most of the income is in the Slidell area.

I’m glad they consider 50k high income. Your friend can pay for daycare like everyone else. Free pre-k for 3 year olds is welfare.

What does your income level have to do with sending your kid to a public school?

For a single parent, single income sending your kid to pre-k. It is considered a lot.

Don't know the St Tammany limits, but yes it seems that way for the one I am familiar with.

Poors and teachers kids.

Just pay for nannies like I do instead. Best part, I let my wife pick the nannies and she ended up picking the hot ones.

You have to be low income to attend public pre-k?

Anyway, I'd have to guess they're going by the federal guidelines used for free/reduced school meals, which changes every year and varies depending on household size.
