There are kids of politicians at just about every private and charter school in this city/JP.

Not good I bet.
But we can play Lacross and run cross country pretty well.

Well I'm sure that's the case for scs, I would imagine the other schools are more well rounded atheletically than the pre Jesuit swimmers at scs

I have friends living out there that send their kid to SFX..

my buddy lives out off Williams and Esplanade in kennabrah and his little boy is at St Francis Xavier as well

Seems like a good enough school from what I can tell... always a fair share of milfs in the pick up lines

that was not the point

Using point that politicians send kid to a school is far from a selling point

OP...

Just hit the open houses coming up soon at most grammar schools... See which one you'll think your kid will fit best with..

St Edward's and St Christopher are both really good schools as well...

We checked out all four, my wife just felt more comfortable with SFX and has been happy with our choice ever since..

St Christopher seems to be at the very low end of the schools according to everyone I know.
I thought they were in real trouble a few years ago

I can see that some kids aren't comfortable at SCS because they need a smaller less competitive environment.

And that statement sums up the pretentious SCS attitude.

OP pick whatever school you feel comfortable with but the statement above tells you all you need to know. The competitiveness has nothing to do with aptitude but more to do with elitist attitude.

Why did you get that out of my post. Sorry if it came out that way.
The smaller schools, less craziness, smaller classrooms are a def plus for some people. I can't argue with that.
Different things for different kids

Jimmie,

You may Be right about SCS being the best elementary school, however, I can promise you that the principle of JHS does not drive past St Ann to get his kids to SCS.

Yes, he is a friend of mine.

Don't know what your friends are telling you. It's been a really good school for years, and were never in any kind of trouble...

Just check the schools out.

I can't imagine the curriculum would differ much among the local Catholic elementary schools. Social atmosphere is likely more important for a young kid.

There is, however, a huge difference in academics at the local Catholic high schools.

You are right but I wasn't saying that in a literal sense. St Ann is on Transcontential which doesn't cross into Harahan but if it did, he would cross it to go to SCS. That is what I was trying to covey. My bad.

One of my kids are friends with his so I know where he lives.
