And if you did, until what grade? Also, if you have kids, do yours?
Rode from 1st grade until Sophomore year (when I got hand me down car).
Kids never rode because bus service was not available to their schools due to EBRSS transportation rules.

I genuinely don't remember when I started riding the bus, but I was young. Rode it through the 8th grade. High school didn't have buses.

Rode the bus 1st grade(only year in public school)
Rode the "people mover) which was like a commuter bus for the students who lived in the next city over. 9th-10th grade until I got my first car.

How else would you expect a 14 year old to get to school(that is a 20 minute drive away)?

Rode until middle school and started playing football. Sporadically after that. Got a car in HS and never rode again. I knew kids who lived in the country and had to be waiying for the bus by 0630.

Walked in elementary school. I started riding the bus in middle school. It was an urban school, and the bus was pretty terrifying.
My sister was a senior when I was a freshman, so I didn’t have to ride the bus anymore when I got to HS.

Older friends/ older siblings/ parents.. hell I’d even walk before having to be seen walking off that thing. I bet you had a rolling book sack too

I rode to school till my 7th grade year, then my mom would bring me. 8th-10th grade rode to school with a neighbor. 11th-12th drove myself to and from. Rode the bus home whenever I didnt have an after school activity.
My kids are 13 & 15. They dont rude the bus, my in laws are retired so they pick them up from school because they want to. My sister in law brings my 13yo to school and my 15 yo goes to school with my wife or neighbor.

You would walk the equivalent of a 20 minute drive?
And what if you didn’t have other ride options?
I only rode the bus in HS until I got a car (mid junior year). Considering it was a magnet school and kids were bused in from all over BR and surrounding areas....riding the bus before you had a car was just the norm for all my classmates and not viewed as a bad thing.

I went to a rural school, so I rode the bus until my older brother started driving us, which was like 7th grade. We lived like 20 miles from school.
My wife drop off/picks up my daughter from school everyday since we live so close now.

Nope, we didn't ride the bus. The bus route took 90 minutes each way, and I had work to do, before and after school.

I did as a senior in high school. Parking was expensive as hell and you could only get it for 2/3 of the year.
