It's not hard to find a non-trashy cruise. First step is to spend a little more. Second is to start the cruise a long ways from where the trashy people live. Celebrity was a good compromise between trashy and octogenarian back when I did this.

Disney Cruises are mostly non-trashesque

What's sad is that the people on these cruises probably really believe they aren't trashy

Why would anyone pay money to get on a boat full of kids and Disney? Gross.

Went on one with my 4 year old a few years ago. There is an adult deck where kids aren't allowed. since everyone has kids, it's pretty empty. Quiet, relaxing, not crowded, nice bar.....it's actually very nice and lucky for us our son loved going to the onboard childcare where he could play with other kids.

The price of the cruise does not price out trash though. Trash still pays when there is disney attached. It's less than Carnival, but its still there.

I’m taking a Royal Caribbean out of Miami this summer. Wish me luck.

I have a friend who takes his parents on a cruise at least twice a year. They love the cruises. A cruise is not of interest IMHO!

Oceiana, Silversea

My folks did a lot of cruising. The Silversea one in the Baltic Sea seemed pretty awesome. My 9th ward dad paid idk how much for the cruise, $700/ticket to watch Swan Lake by the Russian Ballet in St Petersberg, and snored through the entire thing. They said it was a very odd mix of clientele though. Princess gets you on a little better than Carnival. Oceania seems to be the sweet spot. Very nice without being obscenely expensive and showy. Royal Clipper in the Caribbean seemed like a fun time too.

The Viking River cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest was not trashy at all. Didn’t see a single person on that trip that wasn’t at least somewhat civilized. No jorts or mullets anywhere!!

Of course there are non trashy cruises. You have to half of a working brain to figure it out though, so that rules out most of the OT baws.

I love to travel but that picture looks like what I would imagine hell to be. Way too many people.

They are all trashy.

The trick is to embrace the trashiness and get on a 3 night carnival singles cruise for $99.

Nothing better than buffet food with thousands and a 55ft2 room.

7 day cruises are less trashy than 5 day. Because less poors.

This is a very good point. We do seven days at a minimum, the Venice/Adriatic we did was twelve days. The three and four weekend joints attracts the riff raff that are going to get hammered all weekend, lobster out at the pool and scarf down the whole buffet.

I’ve been on a Caribbean cruise, Disney cruise and Alaskan cruise.

Alaskan was not trashy. Full of old people bc it’s expensive AF.

No one jumping in your face at ports or on board for pricey photo ops and stuff like that. Very mellow. Scenery straight out of lord of the rings and suuuper impressive. Smaller ship- but with better content.

Disney was in between Alaskan and Caribbeanish cruises when it came to $. Mostly families and grandparents of likeminded people. Probably a private school cruise if you can imagine that.

Caribbean cruise was like a Walmart. Guests from all over the socio economic spectrum. I’m not gonna say it wasn’t fun, but it didn’t compare to the other two. I kinda felt like someone was always one drink away from streaking.
