Some but only via trade.

I used to live a few doors from a hobby shop. One time I was in there and someone was looking for a Topps McGwire card but they were out. I ran home and got one of mine, which I traded for an unopened pack.

One of my roommates in college left his whole collection in a closet, I absorbed the few good ones he had.

89 upper deck Griffey Jr. was the holy grail of cards when I was a kid. I I later realized there was a buck of them floating around. Lost interest after that.

So while you were in college you stole some of your roommates baseball cards? What a loser.

Amazing back in the day when that beckett price guide was out how thrilling it was to have a card like griffey jr's. I would have taken a bullet if someone tried to steal my junior rookie.
