I guess I should add.
I don't want a diving board or deep end.
Just something to jump in and cool off. 5' at the deepest part of the pool.

all pool contractors are just paper contractors, they sub out everything and do literally nothing once your design etc is finished. They try to get 30% ish profit on their sales, negotiate them down. Find one that is consumer friendly with little overhead. Anybody that has a walk in store, pass, you'll pay for it.

Jerry's Pools did ours when we built our house a couple of years ago. We also got quotes from an individual contractor and Howard's Pools in Opelousas. Their price was in the middle (but almost half of Howard's). We have only good things to say about them. Jerry's son, Teddy, was the guy we dealt with and when I had an issue, he's taken care of it without hesitation. Something went out- can't remember what, sorry (helpless housewife here)- and he arranged the replacement and service for me. Whatever it was that went out was still under warranty, but I really think I could call him with any pool-related issue and he'd help me.
We recommended them to one of our neighbors and they've been pleased with them, too.

Try Howard Pool. Family owned and operated. They are out there with shovel in hand on every job.

They probably aren't the cheapest, but for this type of project make sure you get the best....not the lowest price.

Go 6'.

Find one that isn't sketchy AF. Find one that'll give you references. Make sure the numbnuts has current insurance. Ask to see the paper.

Good luck.

Why 6 over 5?

Yes the rest is a given. I plan on asking to go see other installed pools of possible.

Nah, just 6' at the deep end, maybe the last 10%.

Nice sloping bottom...

Also, he should do a large tanning ledge with bubblers.

5 may be fine, I just like to go all the way under on occasion.
