Spinoff - LEO's of the OT: legalize MMJ or not?

Was kind of surprised at how many current or former law enforcement officers responded to an earlier thread about a career behind the badge. Was wondering if any would give an honest opinion of how they feel about the war on drugs and marijuana legalization.

They'd legalize dog shooting and minority beating if they could.
They all hate legalization of weed because if it gets legalized they lose a reason to stop innocent inner city kids and harass them or worse.

Shouldn't be the deciding factor by any means and no doubt their unions will oppose it but I would be willing to bet they as a group are pretty divided on the subject. I know a few cops who are fine with legalization and would rather deal with a stoned perp than a drunk one. I know other who adamantly oppose it. Thought it would be a good thing to hear the opinions of those on the front line enforcing the laws our politicians pass.
