Sorry. I have never been to a Mardi Gras parade in Baton Rouge. I guess that they feel they have to so stupid crap like that because it is Baton Rouge and no one cares.

The last thing that I want to do is to stand on the side of the street in Baton Rouge while an old, fat, white man hands me fake rubber tits from a flamingo float mocking the death of black people at the hands of the police. I almost cannot imagine a worse way to spend a day.

I like Mardi Gras. I grew up with it and wish I could go to the parades tomorrow. But, that sounds horrible.

Then clearly you dont have the knowledge to say the following

Clearly you dont know the background info on how the parade got started and that it has grown to be absolutely huge.

Black people and the other people associated with the BLM movement need to just realize that you're not going to change everyone's hearts. You can't make people love and care about black people. Just fight for equality under the law and that's all you can do. Life isn't perfect. People don't love each other all the time.

Was the float in poor taste? Possibly, but it seems they do this to everyone.

I don't care, honestly. What was shown here was stupid.

Show me something better if you want me to appreciate it. I get Mardi Gras. I'm from Louisiana. Grew up there. Family from there for generations and still live there. I go home all the time.

What was shown here was stupid.

well not when blacks are killing other blacks everyday and apparently the only black lives that matter are when they are killed by cops...the entire movement is just retarded.

I thought it was funny. I am not easily offended though. I am sure they have mocked more white people over the course of their history

The whole BLM has gotten so far out of control I honestly didn't think anything of it when I saw the float. I'm almost completely disinterested because it only feeds into the ancillary talk which has nothing to do with any kind of meaningful movement whatsoever.

The people associated with BLM really need to get their shite together. They are upset with this float, but they really have only themselves to blame.

that may have been one of the dumbest things I have ever read on here...I guess he thinks the poor people, living off the taxpayers, should not have to pay sales taxes when they pay with cash

I think the movement would make more sense to use it to stop the black on black killings rather than the relative few in comparison that are killed by police.

That would mean admitting that there is a problem within the black community itself. We can't be having all that. Nothing to be gained by it.

The theme of this year's parade "Keep Baton Rouge Ethnically Pure" was a lousy premise for a parade.

Yeah, unfortunately the only way the BLM will gain legitimate support is if they realize Black Culture needs a serious makeover.

It is. But I also understand the history and am not stuck up.

Its a good time if you just go to enjoy yourself in great day drinking weather on a saturday. To say it is stupid without ever attending is actually stupid.
