Sounds like you're just upset that you're a poor and can't afford the float fee.

Spanish Town parade is full of queers, so they get a pass at being racist.

The Spanish Town parade is all about rednecks trying to figure out Cajun and New Orleans culture and failing miserably.

Amen. The gentle people of Spanish Town have had their parade hijacked by suburbanites from Denham and Central and Prairieville who bring their coarse humor with them.

1) Spanishtown, as a whole, isn't all that obscene or offensive. There's 50 or so floats, and maybe a couple of them go into the realm of offensive humor, the vast majority just play off of the pink/flamingo/drunkenness theme.

2) The float in question satirized BOTH the BLM movement "#PinkLivesMatter" and the white response to it "#All Flamingos Matter." In fact, my initial (albeit drunken) interpretation of the "offensive" picture was that it was sympathetic to the BLM Movement. It's a picture of a flamingo (the beloved, innocent hero of Spanishtown) being unjustly beaten by police.

I saw that as legitimizing the general BLM concern that police can take violence too far in apprehending people of color (In the picture the police obviously were white humans, NOT flamingos). It would be different if the it showed 2 flamingo police officers beating a black guy.

? There were two parades I thought. Spanish Town was preceded by a parade of whining butthurt Confederate sympathizers.

or the median income of blacks in Baton Rouge – $39,000 for blacks and $90,000 for whites

I don't know what idiot wrote that article, but research and truth is obviously their weak point.

Black median income in BR is something closer to $24,000 and white median income is closer to $45,000.

And none of it has to do with their race.

Sounds like shinning wanna be victims of racism. Did this guy complain about the closely resembled black panther ladies dancing behind Beyonce at the Superbowl?
I'm guessing he didn't .

So the gay community who started Spanish Town are BR blue blood red necks. Learn something new every day. Have you ever thought about the connection between pink flamingos and Spanish Town? Here is a hint, focus on pink.

Spanish Town has been about flamboyance and shocking sensibilities since its origin. Nothing has changed except it has grown to include others who want an opportunity to be flamboyant once a year.

If that is what they can come up with creatively, that is pretty sad.

The "I can't breathe" flamingo is ridiculous. The guy died.

Now before I go any deeper, to all those who want to defend this garbage, you are a part of the problem.

There were floats that mocked the #BlackLivesMatter Movement, with #PinkLivesMatter, and whites are already out saying that their goal is to be equally offensive to everyone. Well there is a difference in making fun of a senator who slept with prostitutes and dead bodies in the street. Would it be funny if they mocked dead American soldiers? No. It would be called un-American, and disgusting. It would be national news and those who spoke out against it would be considered fighting for the right cause, because our soldiers protect and defend the flag. All of which would be true, and is true about the #BlackLivesMatter Movement being mocked, because the movement is to make America live up to the words of its constitution and declaration of independence.

These two parts just illustrate very poor writing.

I love that people are arguing over what was or what wasnt offensive on a pink flamingo float which is meant to shock and awe.

shite people they were giving out squeezable rubber tits and dick popsicles.

Floats in this parade have been making over the top references for years.
