re: Southern Law Grads: Apply or Re-take the LSAT?

LSU has a bar passage rate of 78% and SU has a bar passage rate of 41% for the LA bar.
Now that certainly is affected by LSU having better students, but in this case with an "average" SULC grad the odds are stacked against you to make it through the bar.

Does Southern do rolling admissions? Will they suspend acting on his application until his new score comes in? These are the questions for the SULC attorneys who graduated recently and know about the inner-workings of their school. I've never even stepped foot on Southern's campus. I heard they have a live Jaguar though, kinda like to see that.
Here's an idea, talk to a southern admissions counselor. It's not some big mystery that you need the inside scoop. Most schools will tell you exactly what you need to be accepted. It's not the davinci code

Great let me take your whole story at face value. That is one anecdote about SULC. One person's success doesn't outweigh the statistical proof that SULC is basically a bad investment.
I mean you can be incredibly successful with any background. There are multi-millionaires out there without a high school diploma. That doesn't prove that dropping out of high school is a good idea.

Bingo.

and the upper level courses are much more often extreme liberal political theory "Genderqueer Identity and the Law" type shite. It's ridiculous.
Isn't this the case at most law schools?

So, I was hoping they were just dicking around on the internet all morning and could answer my questions without me picking up the phone.

I'm in no way disagreeing with the statistics. I work them every day and they are the backbone to any success I feel. The only reason I entered this thread was because someone said:
and I just think that is comical.

I'm just trying to get insight into their application review process from alumni, and if he should go ahead and apply, or wait. I don't know if Southern does rolling admissions, etc.
He can apply and update his LSAT score. I believe they use the best score when evaluating.

Pretty much most tier 1 schools. Once you know your students are good enough to pass the bar the courses can get really strange.
From talking to some folks graduating now it seems there is a bit of a shift back towards practical classes (more adjuncts, less theoretical law), but most of your 3L classes will still be useless bullshite.

I pretty much threw darts to choose my second semester 3L classes. I think I may have taken some BS literature and the law class. Most of 3L was a waste of time and money.

Did you go to Tulane? I definitely took Literature and the Law seminar my last semester and didn't read a dam thing. Best class I took in law school.

slight hijack, my son made a 186 on the LSAT, will graduate with a GPA of about 3.4 Does he have a chance do get a decent scholarship for LSU law. my savings account wants to know

3L year should be used as an apprentice-type program. It's really just a waste of a year.

No. I went to school up here.

He does. But he should go to Texas. Or Georgetown. Or NYU...
(I'm assuming you meant 168)

It should be. Or at least really thorough clinical programs.
